Dear
Wickertree Members,
The
leaves are changing and the temperature is dropping...
a new season has arrived. And with Thanksgiving on the
way, myself and Wickertree have so much to be thankful
for. As the economy goes up and down, we steadily have
a job to support us all. Most importantly, you the members,
keep coming back. I can't thank you all enough for believing
in us. I have been impacted greatly by so many of you.
I can tell you all want to see Wickertree succeed both
as a club and as a "family". I wish you all
the very best this Thanksgiving and thank you again for
all your support. "Whatever you do, you do it with
all your heart."

Holiday
Lessons
|

This
is the time to start planning ahead for your tennis for
the Holidays. If you know when your kids are out of school,
you could contact their pro now and set up a lesson before
he or she gets booked up. This would be a good chance
to get their tennis in earlier in the day instead of later.

Master Junior
Satellite
Circuit
|
|
|
The
Bernie Master Jr. Circuit Wickertree is one of the hosts
of the Bernie Master Jr. Circuit. The Circuit runs from
now until the 1st week in March. It's a competitive junior
league held at various clubs in the Columbus area. The
league still needs kids in the following age groups: Boys
14,16,18's and Girls 12's division. For more info, please
contact Olympic Tennis Club.

Standings A lot of our USTA teams are standing strong.
Congrats to the following teams that are really standing
out in the season so far (as of Oct. 23rd):
- 3.5
Women's Daytime team (Metzmaier) - 1st place
- 3.5
Career Women's team (Parks/Dinsmoor) - 1st place
- 4.0
Men's team (Riley) - 2nd place
- 2.5
Women's Daytime team (Hrabcak) - 3rd place
There
are many other teams that are not far behind . Keep up
the good work!

Thanksgiving
Events

Want to burn off those extra Thanksgiving calories? Would
you like to get out and do some Holiday shopping? Then
drop off your kids or you yourself can be a part of our
Thanksgiving Events coming up during Thanksgiving break.
Sign up sheets and details will be posted on the Information
Board in the front lobby. There will be a Junior Camp,
Junior Match Play, a Junior Club Tournament and Adult
Fast Feed. Hope to see you all then!

the club is open from 8:00 am -1:00 pm (courts are half
price - $17 per hour).

Pick your time 9am-10:30am or 10:30am-12pm for $27

for $30 light snack provided!

November 30th, Junior Club Tournament with CJ Simmons
1-4 pm for $20 Prizes provided!

The
Smash Event
Another
Success!
|
|
|
On
Saturday, October 4th, the 8th Annual Smash With Love
"I Will Survive" tennis event was held at Wickertree
Tennis Club. About 150 people were in attendance and helped
raise over $31,000 for the Stefanie Spielman Breast Cancer
Reseach Fund. People were treated to fun tennis on every
court, great food from Abeulo's, dessert from Golden Delight
and entertainment by Russ Thomas. This years theme was
"An Evening in Paradise." Thanks to Wickertree
Tennis Club for donating the club for the evening and
to all the pros for donating their time to this worthwhile
cause. Smash With Love is an independent organization
of tennis players from different clubs around Columbus.
Our goal is to see Breast Cancer eliminated in our lifetime.
If you would be interested in helping on the committee,

All types of volunteers are needed to bring this event
together.

Moving
Up Clinic

Want to improve your game and get an extra day of tennis
in? Then join in on Pablo's 3.5/4.0 Moving Up Clinic held
every Monday from 11am -12:30pm. There is a weekly sign-up
sheet on the Adult Board, to the right of the front desk.
Sign up is required to make sure the appropriate number
of pros will be there. Any questions, contact Pablo Russo
at 882-5724. Look forward to seeing you on Mondays!

Junior

Congratulations to Nisha Nataraj and Neha Patel for their
roles in winning the 2008 Girls Division II Team State
Championship. Columbus Academy defeated the defending
champs, Lexington High School in the semifinals and Cincinnati
Hills Christian Academy in the finals. Way to go Vikings!
