Summer Camp

The Dear Wickertree Members, As I write this I see glimpses of daffodils, a few days of sun and tan faces returning from Spring Break. Just four days ago the staff and I put the outside nets up to get ready for summer. Kind of funny I think... Ohio weather. As winter is winding down and spring is popping up, we too, our shifting our focus to our next season. We are getting ready for our Summer Camp this month, a yearly flyer with all new member benefits is in the works and more clothes for the Pro Shop are now being offered. Each one of us on staff is striving to create a more ÒMember friendlyÓ atmosphere. My hope is that by the decisions and changes we plan on making these next couple of months, that atmosphere will echo from the walls. Please voice your ideas with me or other staff members to help make the time you spend here at your club an even better experience for you and your family. ÒWhatever you do, do it with all your heart.Ó Doug DiRosario Have some FUN and save some $$$ in April!!! ÒFab Four Fridays in AprilÓ Make sure you check out the Adult Board this month. DonÕt forget April 29th is the Columbus Indoor. Wickertree will be hosting its third of four Columbus Indoor tournaments this month. The Girls 14s & 12s age divisions will be coming to our club to compete in this prestigious tournament. All court times, leagues, lessons and junior programs will be cancelled on Saturday the 29th and Sunday the 30th. The final tournament is May 13th-15th. James Blake won the backdraw of one of these tournaments. So come out and enjoy some good tennis during these weekends! Have you seen our new League Board? What used to be our Challenger Board, that is now in the back with all the other junior programs, is now our League Board. The board is just left of the Front Desk as you walk into the club. Janine Kiser, our League Coordinator, will be updating the board on a regular basis. Already on the board are the current USTA standings, singles ladder standings and other great information about leagues. We will be placing all our upcoming summer and fall intra-club leagues on it very soon. Many of them will be brand new and some that we have seen do really well. Do not forget to check it out when you walk in the club. Players of the Month The ÒPlayers of the MonthÓ award is a special recognition for a particular individual in each specific program. The award is based upon hard work, character, and improvement of their skills on the court. There are plaques on the walls to acknowledge their accomplishment and to show past winners. Congratulations to these four individuals. Remember: Dream BIG! Make it HAPPEN!
